Society6 for Laura H Garrett Photography

Finding different ways to share my art and photography has always been a goal of mine. In art school there was never a class on how to sell your art, only to make it. Which kind of puts a interesting kind of stress in your life. Really. Being an artist is all fun and games because you get to be creative but the non fun and games side of it is, I need to eat. Besides photographing weddings, engagements, or seniors graduating from high school, I was never really sure how to get my work out there to sell.

Until now. 

Society6 has changed that for a lot of growing artists in the real world, after college, and I couldn't be more please with them. They have a variety of products to choose from that you can put any kind of art work on; from phone cases, tote bags, mugs, and even shower curtains.(CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??!!)

For my page on Society6, I have a variety of photographs and typography's which were either made through photoshop or captured through the lens on my Canon5d markii; the photographs were taken through out my time in California. From Disneyland to the shores of Santa Monica; I got to see a vast amount of California in two years, besides NorCal, and I'll be making one last trip to Big Sur next week!

To Family!

Ohana means family and family is the most important part of any persons life. They are always going to be there for you to help in the best way they can. I have gotten the privilege to photograph two families in years past and someday I hope to photograph more.

This family is friends with my mother, which is one of the main reasons why I got the opportunity to photograph them. The family was celebrating the anniversary of the two parents of the guys in the second photo down. Three children, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren...what a wonderful large family indeed. 

Seriously, aren't they the cutest?!?!

This session was part of a senior portrait session that took place at Quiet Waters Park in Maryland. After photographing the young lady graduating from High School, I snapped a few photos of this adorable family.

Engagements are the start of a wonderful beginning for a couple a, "we're just started," kind of moment. Sara and Wesley were my first couple to contact me about shooting their photos of their engagement and I was so giddy so I started researching poses and styles of photos that attracted my eye.
